
The Cultural Association “Peiros” dance troop from the municipality of Western Achaia performed traditional dances from all over Greece, including ipirotikos, tsamiko, kalamatiano, sirtaki, and ikariotiko, on October 22 in Beijing’s Chaoyang Park. The performance coincided with the third China-Central Eastern European Countries Culture and Arts Carnival.
The goal of the performance was to pass down cultural customs and other facets of Greek cultural heritage from one generation to the next.
Videos showcasing the splendor of the Western Peloponnese, the birthplace of the Olympic Games, were shown alongside the performances, and educational materials were provided.
As part of the third China-Central Eastern European Countries Culture and Arts Carnival, which was organized by the Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center and hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Chaoyang District Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Beijing Municipality, the eight-member dance group of the cultural association “Peiros” gave a performance in Beijing.
